Randy Orton is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world as he has competed inside the squared circle for almost two decades. While Orton is seen as a locker room leader now, he used to be a very problematic individual early on in his career.

While speaking on ‘The Kurt Angle Show’ on AdFreeShows.com, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle talked about RVD’s love for marijuana and also revealed how he and Randy Orton bypassed drug test suspensions.

Kurt Angle mentioned that WWE Superstars were tested for drugs several times every year and those who failed the tests had to give a fine and were suspended. Randy Orton and RVD would inquire about how many tests WWE conducted every year and what the fine was for failing the tests. They then paid the money upfront and avoided suspension.

Well, I think that the WWE, what they are doing right now, and I don’t know if it has changed since I left, but they would just fine the wrestler. So, you’re going to get drug tested seven times a year. If you’re going to fail seven times a year, and this is one of the wrestlers, this is what I heard one of the wrestlers say, and I might as well say who it is, Randy Orton and Rob Van Dam.

They basically told the company that they would, ‘How much were the fines, and how many drug tests would I do this year?’ So, they wanted to pay the money upfront (laughs). I think the fine was two thousand dollars, so they just said, ‘Here, take 14 grand, I’m good.’ They would bypass the test, and they wouldn’t get suspended. So, I think marijuana, they have been lighter on about because it’s not banned anymore. You don’t get suspended, but you still get fined.”

RVD was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year and Randy Orton is currently teaming up with Matt Riddle as Team RK-Bro on Monday Night RAW. It is unlikely Orton has to bypass being suspended as he is a more responsible person now.
