WrestleMania Backlash included plenty of zombies, but it was for an Army Of The Dead tie-in. That match took a lot of extra production time and they apparently got it out of the way early.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez revealed something very interesting about that zombie-filled lumberjack match. It was apparently taped ahead of time. They still put it on the pay-per-view even after seeing it.

“You know I was told that match was a pre-tape? Like, they taped it and still put it on television.”

The zombies at WrestleMania Backlash were universally panned by fans and critics alike. Many commented on how it was a very low point to an otherwise acceptable pay-per-view event.

The Miz was also injured during that match, possibly putting him on the sidelines for months. That might have also played into why they didn’t re-shoot any of the match.
