Eddie Edwards appeared to be in line for a nice push in Impact Wrestling. He got the pinfall over Karl Anderson in the six-man tag team match at Under Siege, but then he fell under the weather in a big way. Now he might have to have surgery to correct a problem.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about how Eddie Edwards is now suffering from what is believed to be a bout with appendicitis. That is not good at all, especially since Impact Wrestling is taping two months’ worth of television this week.

“I was told appendicitis and I checked, and basically I was told that it looks like appendicitis, which is not a good thing at all. I don’t have details on whether he’s having surgery right now, or what is the situation. That probably went down yesterday, or today.”

It was noted that Impact Wrestling seemed to be placing Eddie Edwards in a spot where he might have a match against Kenny Omega down the line. Moose is facing Omega in June, but July could have been Eddie Edwards’ month. That can’t happen if he has appendicitis now.

Hopefully, Edwards’ appendicitis won’t cause him to have anything removed. If that is the case then he could be in for an even longer recovery.

Who should step up and face Kenny Omega for the Impact World Title next? Sound off in the comments!
