WWE knows that AEW announced a return to the road in July, but that won’t cause them to rush things. All Elite Wrestling announced three dates for July as they return to touring. WWE still has their own plan.

According to Wrestle Votes, WWE will not change their plan to start touring again in August. The thinking was out there that AEW’s announcement might encourage WWE to step things up, but they are sticking with their original August goal.

From a few sources I’ve asked, it doesn’t seem like AEW starting back on the road in July will impact WWE’s return to touring plans. While this could change as Vince & Co like to be number 1 for these types of things, as of today, it still looks like August for them.

SummerSlam is August 22nd, and some have said that will mark the beginning of live touring for WWE again. We’ll have to see what’s in the future, but the light certainly seems to be getting brighter at the end of the pandemic tunnel.
