AEW presented Blood & Guts this week and plenty of fans loved the show. It was a bloody contest where everyone involved felt it in the morning. Still, some saw the match much differently.

Ringside News has been told that AEW’s Blood & Guts match was a huge topic of conversation today within WWE, but not for a good reason. We were told that most backstage considered the match as “barbaric” with all the “bloodletting” that took place.

A tenured member of the creative team opened up to us about how AEW’s Blood & Guts match is viewed by many within the company. “It was a bad image for the industry, especially the obvious blading.”

Chris Jericho’s big spot at the end also received jeers as some commented how Le Champion “wants to be Shane McMahon” now.

AEW Blood & Guts was hit with the viewership, and it landed Dynamite in the #1 spot on cable for the first time ever. The Blood & Guts match wasn’t a hit with everyone in the industry.
