WWE and Saudi Arabia have a very lucrative partnership, but they haven’t been able to run a show in the country for quite some time due to the pandemic. They have requested several things for those events that just couldn’t happen like deceased wrestlers appearing. One very interesting match was almost booked, but it didn’t happen.

According to Fightful Select, they were very close to setting up a match for Hornswoggle that would have seen the former Cruiserweight Champion take on a very interesting opponent.

There were plans for WWE to run a match with Hornswoggle on one of the shows. Robbie “The Giant’ Araujo was actually flown over to Saudi Arabia and not used, according to talent. Araujo appeared on Micro Championship Wrestling and appeared on WWE TV in the past as “JB-Elf.”

The Saudi Arabian Sports Authority have made some big requests in the past regarding who they want to see on WWE events in their country. WWE can’t deliver people like Yokozuna since he passed away, but they were able to do what they can to make the powers that be in KSA happy.
