WWE is moving things around backstage by firing a few long-time employees at pretty high levels. The circle of life in WWE continues as they followed that news up with an addition to the SmackDown team.

The company revealed that Megan Morant has joined the Friday Night SmackDown team. A graduate of Northwestern University, Morant is coming to WWE by way of the New England Patriots where she was a host for their online talk show among other duties.

Real name Megan O’Brien, the new SmackDown backstage interviewer is very excited about this new adventure as Megan Morant.

“I can’t begin to express how excited I am to join WWE. From the incredibly athletic Superstars to the creative minds behind the scenes, WWE has set the standard in the world of global entertainment. The passion WWE has for its fans reminds me of why I chose this industry, to entertain and connect people from all walks of life. I’m forever grateful for this opportunity and ready to hit the ground running. Let’s go!”

She was also a digital correspondent for the BIG EAST Conference and a broadcaster for the Cape Cod Baseball League.

The Chicago native worked sidelines at Super Bowl’s LVI and LVII and appeared weekly on CBS Sports Network’s pregame shows. We’ll have to see how she meshes with WWE’s weekly programming on Friday Night SmackDown.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
