WWE has a lot planned for the two nights of WrestleMania this year. Someone has to open up the big event and they could have a big title match in mind to kick things off.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that he “thinks” that Drew McIntyre’s match against WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will open up night one of WrestleMania. This is something that McIntyre apparently said he’d love to do.

“Lashley vs Drew McIntyre which I think is opening the show and Drew argued that he would love to open the show.”

Ringside News exclusively reported that Vince McMahon already has the lineup and match finishes all figured out.

WWE placing the Lashley vs McIntyre match first makes sense for several reasons. The crowd is likely to be very excited about the first WWE event with a crowd in over a year. McIntyre might just get that big pop to start out the show of shows. We’ll have to see how WWE plans everything out.
