John Cena was expected to take part in WrestleMania 37 in some way. This was exclusively reported by Ringside News and confirmed elsewhere as well. The big question was what he will be doing, and how much involvement he can have?

Cena is currently in Vancouver filming the Peacemaker spin-off. That Suicide Squad series for HBO Max will keep him busy for quite a while. New COVID-19 restrictions also makes it very difficult to make trips from Canada to the United States.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, John Cena explained that the quarantine time needed upon retry into Canada would cause the Peacemaker show to halt production. At this point, there “is no logistical way” he can physically be there.

“Currently, I’m in Vancouver shooting Peacemaker, the series for HBO Max. Given the quarantine regulations, if I were to leave Canada, upon return I would have to quarantine for another two weeks. Essentially, that would shut production down. Strictly based on the letter of the law right now, there is no logistical way I can be there. We film now until July.”

Canada also put forth an additional mandate that anyone entering into the country needs a negative COVID-19 test. That quarantine time is not something Canada is willing to overlook either.

This is an interesting situation as there were plans for Cena to work the show of shows, but this seems like another situation ruined by the COVID-19 pandemic.
