Jon Moxley is IWGP United States Champion. This presented a problem during the pandemic. He has not been able to defend that title since February 9th where he defeated Minoru Suzuki at New Beginnings. That is about to change.

Mox was previously unable to compete for NJPW while in the USA due to his AEW commitments. This was not a huge problem until travel to Japan was suddenly impossible due to a pandemic. It seems that that situation with AEW’s restrictions has resolved itself.

Fans were surprised to see Jon Moxley show up and take out KENTA and Bullet Club. KENTA has made no secret about how much he wants Moxley and the IWGP United States Title.

New Japan confirmed today that Jon Moxley will defend the IWGP United States Title in “THE Match” on February 26th. This will be a match on NJPW Strong.

We will have to see if Jon Moxley retains his title after holding it for so long. He needed to relinquish that title during his first run due to weather issues. It is surprising for a lot of fans that NJPW let him hold onto that title for so long.
