WWE Gives NXT Referee A Big Promotion

WWE is a company that has plenty of room to move up if you put in the work. That effort recently paid off in a big way for referee Darryl Sharma.

According to Wrestling Inc, Darryl Sharma has been promoted to Senior Official. He is now in charge of the NXT and NXT UK brand’s referees. He will make their schedules and also deal with their assignments.

This new position will also come with coaching responsibilities. WWE has a certain way that they want their referees to officiate matches, and that can sometimes change with Vince McMahon’s whim.

Ringside News exclusively reported that Vince McMahon wants referees to call their matches like a shoot. He also wants them to be more aware so when a heel cheats so the heat is on the bad guy for his underhanded tactics and not the referee for missing the moment.
