WWE has a lot of projects in the works right now. They are always shooting a new documentary special, and the WWE Network’s calendar is booking up fast. The company realizes that fans like to see the actual people behind the curtain, and WWE is planning to bring fans more content just like that.

WWE Senior Producer Steve Conoscenti recently spoke to Wrestling Inc where he explained how high the demand is for digital content during the pandemic. WWE visited Beth Phoenix’s hometown of Elmira to film a special, and they have many other projects in the pipeline.

“The demand for content is gigantic right now because of the pandemic. Things like to coming out to Elmira, hometowns of everyone else out there. We plan on bringing more of that, stories of the people…we work non-stop to find ways to connect to the people behind the character.”

“In terms of new series’ that are coming out there. The series like WWE 24, The Icon Series, Ruthless Aggression Season 2…that’s coming soon. So I think a lot more coming from the brands you already know and more brands will keep popping up.”

WWE is making a ton of content for their Network, and they add to the value of their streaming service with each original special. We have seen WWE license those documentaries out to other streaming services and cable channels in recent memory as well. Fans love getting a look behind the curtain, and WWE is always looking to add to their ever-growing list of specials. It is a mutually beneficial situation.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
