Brodie Lee passed away after suffering a lung ailment that was not COVID-19. He passed away in the Mayo Clinic, and an old friend helped him get that bed.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Brodie Lee’s old friend, AEW Executive Vice President Chris Harrington, helped him get into the Mayo Clinic. He was able to start seeing those specialists in October dur to the severity of his illness.

A few in the company were aware for two months, as Chris Harrington, a Vice President of AEW who knew Huber for two decades since both were originally from Rochester, NY, was able to get him to the Mayo Clinic to see the best specialists in late October, as they realized the seriousness of his issues.

Some in AEW knew how bad Brodie Lee’s illness was, but they tried to “put on a happy outward face” as they continued. Obviously, there was a lot of concern for Brodie Lee and the situation eventually lead to his tragic passing.

AEW did everything they could for the Exalted One, and that effort has not stopped after his death. The company is still there for his family in a huge way.
