WWE has an issue with changing their plans around before the show. Friday Night SmackDown seems to take a brunt of these problems.

Vince McMahon didn’t show up on Friday for SmackDown until later in the day. This caused a huge problem because they were waiting for the Chairman’s arrival, because they knew he would change up the show.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Friday is “always in a state of disarray” because “that’s just what it is.” It was said that Vince McMahon “shows up when he shows up,” and they “change everything.”

Ringside News exclusively reported that Vince McMahon missed just around half of the SmackDown episodes prior to the pandemic. He’s making practically every show now that they’re in the ThunderDome. That doesn’t seem to be helping their creative process.

If they didn’t have to worry about Vince McMahon’s approval, they could have a show ready and prepared. This is not the way things work as nothing can be signed off and green lit until McMahon approves it.
