The pro wrestling world took a huge hit when the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe. The entire planet is dealing with the novel coronavirus, and Kenny Omega has seen how so many in the pro wrestling business suffered because of the lost work.

Absence of live fans at events also caused a lot of interest to dwindle. It just wanted the same for a lot of fans watching from home.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Kenny Omega was asked about a possible partnership with NJPW. Omega is open to working with all companies, even WWE. He said that during this time it could be the best thing to collaborate to put on the best show possible.

“Now more than ever, with the entire world struggling, we could really make lemonade out of lemons by putting forth our best efforts for a collaborative effort.”

“That’s the great thing about pro wrestling. A lot of people are in this business because they love making people happy. There are a lot of us in wrestling right now that want nothing more than to make fans happy. We get lost in our own fantasy booking talking about how cool it would be to team up, and there are restrictions in the world right now, but maybe down the road.”

The COVID-19 pandemic is still raging, and a vaccine is one the way, but not close to arriving yet. Fans need the best entertainment possible and Kenny Omega wants to help give it to them. If AEW partners with another company along the way to put on a special event then great things could come of that idea as well.
