Edge returned at the Royal Rumble this year, but then he suffered an injury during the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever at Backlash. Now we are patiently waiting for the Rated R Superstar’s return.

Edge’s triceps injury was obviously not in the plan, but it is forcing the 46-year-old to discover how his body heals after surgery at this age. He recently admitted that it’s slow process.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter broke down Edge’s possible return timetable. If he is out for six to eight months as expected, that will put him at a February return. The idea was for Edge to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania in a last man standing match, but that is up in the air now along with all other WrestleMania plans.

It was noted that Edge’s return at the Royal Rumble “could make sense,” but a January comeback would be “touch and go.” Right now it’s unknown how soon Edge will return, or how they will bring him back.

It was presumed that Randy Orton might be the WWE Champion by that point. He could win the title at Hell In A Cell as he battles Drew McIntyre. That could put a very interesting twist in the situation.
