WWE introduced a new virtual fan experience idea. The ThunderDome will soon be a reality. CM Punk heard the news, but he had a valid question about the name WWE picked.

As we previously reported, WWE didn’t even have the copyright locked down for ThunderDome when they announced it. CM Punk can also name some other times pro wrestling lifted something from the Mad Max world.

CM Punk took this opportunity to take a little shot at the new WWE ThunderDome name:

“Unrelated, have the Road Warrior movies been responsible for the most pro wrestling gimmicks/names?”

Punk must have wanted fans to understand his point. He followed that tweet up with a second where he provided some examples: “A lot of you don’t understand this tweet. Road warriors, humongous, match beyond, thunder dome….”

We’ll have to see what WWE does next. Their move to the Amway Center certainly has a lot of people talking. CM Punk will probably be watching, and if might even appear as a virtual fan inside the ThunderDome.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
