WWE Doesn’t Own The Name ThunderDome Yet

WWE revealed that the ThunderDome is coming. This is a new name and a lot of fans are very excited. The company doesn’t necessarily have that name locked down yet.

Upon researching copyright filings, we discovered that WWE doesn’t own the name ThunderDome quite yet. They also don’t have the name “WWE ThunderDome” locked down either. There are also already some people who have that name registered.

Thunderdome is registered under multiple uses by different people. Currently, it is a live trademark for uses including a golf tournament, protective gloves, and a wine company. As of this writing WWE hasn’t locked down the copyright for their own usage.

WWE is very likely in the process of locking down WWE ThunderDome. This could be posted very soon. It is very interesting that they didn’t already have the name prepared and ready to go with today’s big announcement.
