Booker T was a part of groups, teams, and stables during his time in the pro wrestling business. He knows how good of a run the New Day have experienced, but nothing good lasts forever.
Big E is now in a position where he will get a singles run. Kofi Kingston was “injured” just enough to give Big E 6 weeks of television time on his own. During his Hall Of Fame radio show, Booker T said it’s about time for Big E.
Booker T also said that it’s got to be close to the end of the New Day. WWE could always keep them together and rack up 20 tag team title wins, but that’s not likely.
“Well, it has got to be close to the end. I mean they’ve had a hell of a run. They can’t run this thing forever. I don’t think The New Day want to say 20 time WWE World Tag Team Champions. I think they think that was old after a period of time and then after you had that success in tag team you want to explore. You want to see if you could actually go out there and do in the singles ranks.
“Time is running out on Big E. Time is running out on Xavier. Xavier I forgot, he’s done, he’s finished. Big E still has some time left to go out there and cash his ticket. Go out there and stake his claim as far as his legacy and perhaps become the World Heavyweight Champion. There’s nothing like becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.”
We’ll have to see what’s next for Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods. The stable is currently missing Woods as he is out of action with an Achilles’ injury. Now Big E is ready to show the world what he can do on his own.
Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE came very close to breaking up the New Day last year. They obviously didn’t follow through with that idea, but they might have come back around to the story.
