WWE will tease things on television, but it’s usually for a reason. During RAW Talk a few weeks ago, Kairi Sane said she’s ready for Asuka. A lot of fans got excited about a possible match between the two, but it wasn’t in the cards.

Kairi Sane’s final appearance for WWE took place this week. She thanked the company and all of the professionals she had a chance to work with following her beat-down at the hands of Bayley.

During Wrestling Observer Radio (transcription by Ringside News), Dave Meltzer brought up the fact that WWE teased a big match that they had no intentions of following up on. Sane could have always been saying this on her own without being scripted, but the company still brought attention to it to further excite fans.

“They were never doing that match. That was never in the cards, but why do that? Why tease that when you have 2 weeks left [with Kairi Sane]?”

Bryan Alvarez mentioned that this got more heat on Bayley because she ruined a teased Asuka vs Sane match. “They were never doing the match anyway,” Meltzer replied.

We’ll have to see if Kairi Sane ever returns to WWE. The company wishing Sane the best in her next voyage is a pretty clear indication that they’re not making any plans for her.
