WWE is not holding SummerSlam in Boston as first planned. There are options other than the Performance Center, especially when the company produces their content in Florida.

According to Mike Johnson on PW Insider‘s audio update, WWE is considering some very interesting options for the biggest party of the Summer. The idea is out there to hold the event in an outdoor setting like a beach. There is also a thought that they could hold the event on a boat.

SummerSlam on a beach or a boat would certainly be welcomed change of pace for WWE events. It would also give SummerSlam a unique look. It’s unknown if WWE would bring fans into this setting, but an outdoor environment is more conducive for crowds.

The weather in Florida must also be taken into consideration. Florida can have very unpredictable weather, especially during the end of August.

It is unclear if WWE is looking at locations outside of Florida for SummerSlam. There are a record number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state. WWE has continued to run shows at the Performance Center while upping their precautionary measures to include mandatory coronavirus testing.
