Welcome to Ringside News’ live results coverage for WWE RAW on June 22nd, 2020.

Tonight’s RAW is set to be a pretty huge show, with no less than four title matches! Asuka will defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Sasha Banks face The IIconics with the Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line, R-Truth puts his 24/7 Championship up for grabs against Akira Tozawa, and The Street Profits will finally face The Viking Raiders in a real match for the RAW Tag Team Titles.

However it isn’t all about the gold on tonight’s show, Edge returns to the show following his loss to Randy Orton at Backlash, and addresses his future. And Rey Mysterio will come face-to-face with Seth Rollins for the first time since the Messiah injured his eye.

And that’s the preview for tonight’s RAW. It should be a pretty great show, so follow along here and enjoy!

WWE RAW

Tonight’s RAW opens with the WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre, coming to the ring. And sharply dressed no less.

Drew welcomes us to the show and says tonight’s RAW is Championship Monday. He says it’s time to look to the future, and that’s when Drew is interrupted by RAW’s newest Superstar, Dolph Ziggler.

Ziggler says AJ Styles has gone to SmackDown, and in return RAW got traded himself and Bobby Roode. Dolph says that nobody is happier than him to see Drew as the WWE Champion, and he wants nobody to get that title before he gets his deserved shot.

McIntyre asks what he thinks he’s owed, and Dolph reminds Drew that he brought him back to WWE and he redeemed his entire career. They were tag champs because of Ziggler, and now Drew is WWE Champion because of him. Dolph says he knows Drew needs an opponent at Extreme Rules, and all he wants is what he is owed: a title match.

Drew says Ziggler espoused some revisionist history there. And he says that, since big daddy Claymore left his side, Dolph’s career hasn’t been so hot. McIntyre says Ziggler is supremely talented, but he’s become exactly what they hated; he’s become an entitled jackass. That said, he does need an opponent at Extreme Rules. It was Dolph who gave him the nickname, the Scottish psychopath, so he asks Ziggler if he really wants the match knowing what he’s capable of. Dolph says he does, so Drew says it’s official.

Nia Jax comes to the ring and takes a seat on a chair in the middle of it.

*Commercial Break*

We’re back live and Nia says it must be Monday, because Charlotte Flair got what she wanted once again. She says she was cheated at Backlash, and once again by a biased referee. Where’s the fairness?

And that’s when R-Truth interrupts Nia. He comes to the ring rapping, then says she must be confused because he’s meant to have a match against the leader of a ninja clan right now. Truth then realises Nia might be the real Akira Tozawa. Jax says she’s not in the mood to be mistaken for Tozawa, and Truth says he’s not in the mood to be hoodwinked. Tozawa appears behind the announcers and then his ninja’s swarm the ring and chase Truth off.

Charlotte Flair comes out and says she wants to explain what’s happening to Jax. Flair says that Nia squandered both her last title shots, and now she’s whining. Jax reiterates that Charlotte only gets what she wants because she’s Ric Flair’s daughter. She says Charlotte is delusional if she thinks Ric didn’t help her career.

Flair says she’s right, it was her dad that ended Asuka’s undefeated streak. And it was her dad who beat Asuka twice last month. Jax says that the one woman who Flair hasn’t beaten, is her. She says she’s the woman built to take Flair’s crown. Flair clocks Nia with a right and they brawl until referee’s pull them apart. Flair drops Nia with a boot during the fight, but holds her arm in pain.

We see highlights of the ‘anything you can do, we can do better’ series between the Street Profits and The Viking Raiders. The Profits are backstage and they say they will prove tonight, that they are the better team. The Raiders approach and Ford says The Viking Profits not like the NWO, they’re not for life, they’re forever. But even though they are friends, they will both do their best to win. The two teams walk off towards the ring and Zelina Vega walks up smiling like she’s had an idea.

After the match the Vikings give them hugs, then they do The Viking Profit pose. As the Champs make to leave the ring, Angel Garza and Andrade attack them from behind. They beat on them until The Vikings run back down and make the save.

Seth Rollins is backstage and he’s approached by his disciples. He holds up a hand for them to be quiet and says he has a message for Rey. Soon all will be revealed.

*Commercial Break*

We see highlights of Rey Mysterio’s feud with Seth Rollins. Seth is still backstage and he says sometimes in life we don’t get to choose our roles. He didn’t choose to be the Monday Night Messiah, just like Rey didn’t choose to be a sacrifice. But unlike Rey, he embraced his role. And Rey’s insolence will breed violence. And the worst part is, Rey has allowed his son to get involved in this. From here on out, whatever happens Dominik is on Rey’s shoulders. They say legends never die, but they sure as hell can outlive their welcome.

After the break Asuka will defend her Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair. We see Flair coming out of the doctor’s office. Charly asks if Charlotte has thought about postponing her match tonight, and she says no. She says this is what they do, it’s not ballet.

Charly then approaches Vega, Andrade, and Garza and says it’s surprising to see them acting as a unit. She asks what prompted their attack on the Profits. Garza says if you know what you want you have to take it. It’s like being in love with a beautiful woman, you have to look in the eyes…Vega pulls him away. She says that her clients have turned their differences into strengths and they will be taking a common goal.

RAW Women’s Championship

(C) Asuka Vs. Charlotte Flair

The match gets underway and they lock-up. Asuka shoots Flair off but gets dropped with a shoulder. Flair beats Asuka down in the corner as we see Nia Jax watching on a monitor. Asuka fires back with some kicks and takes the injured arm of Charlotte.

Asuka wrenches the arm and kicks it, then looks for a hip attack but Flair avoids it and chops her. Flair goes to the apron but Asuka bends her arm over the top rope. Asuka gets on the apron and hits a running knee to Flair. The Champ looks to do it a second time but Charlotte swipes her feet out and she hits the floor. Flair kicks her and gets her back in the ring for a two-count.

Flair applies a headscissors on the mat, then flips Asuka over, slamming her into the mat. Charlotte goes up top and jumps for a moonsault but Asuka moves and she lands on her feet. Charlotte then slams Asuka face-first into the buckles and the Empress rolls to the outside.

Asuka takes a moment, which allows Flair to hit a spear but this time Asuka gets a foot on the rope. Asuka goes back to the armbar. Charlotte lifts and slams her down, but Asuka transitions into a modified Asuka Lock and Flair taps!

Winner: Asuka

Charly Caruso interviews Nia Jax backstage and asks if she thinks the fight earlier played a role in that match. Jax says she thinks it would be a real shame if someone kicked the Queen while she’s down.

Ric Flair will be live on RAW tonight to anoint Edge as the greatest wrestler ever. Up next however, Edge will provide a medical update.

*Commercial Break*

We see Edge sitting in a dark ring. He says he they are, Randy won at Backlash but he doesn’t think he proved he was the better wrestler. Randy hit an RKO and tore his tricep but he kicked out. He says he saw the panic in Randy when he tried to lock in the Anti-Venom. And that’s when Randy “accidentally” low-blowed him.

And now Randy claims he is the greatest wrestler because he won the greatest wrestling match. Well that’s fine, he can put it on a t-shirt and sell it if it means that much to him. But it wouldn’t mean that much to him because he would expect to win. He says he should have seen the low-blow coming, he’s pissed he didn’t think of it himself.

He says he wasn’t able to lift his children on Father’s Day and that opened his eyes. That lit a fire in him that hasn’t been lit in nine years, then Randy questioned Christian’s manhood, knowing he wasn’t medically cleared. And then Ric Flair low-blow him and then Randy punted him. The man that has stood beside him his whole life.

So Randy woke a side of him that will do whatever it takes, and bruise anyone’s back he needs to step on to get to the top. He wants to embarrass and emasculate Randy, so much so that he’s going to wish Cowboy Bob had been firing blanks the night he was conceived. And when he goes home, his kids will know the look in his eyes Kim, his wife, will see the look and they’ll both know what’s coming.

So Randy says he hears voices in his head, well his is going to drown the rest out. He’s going to poison every aspect of Randy’s life and he’s not going to be able to think about anything else. He’s going to be living in fear. So get some sleep Randy, because the Rated-R Superstar is awake.

Randy is backstage and Charly Caruso approaches him. He interrupts her and says when a snake is cornered, it’s going to defend itself and strike wildly. To survive however it can. Edge and Christian both tried to make comebacks at his expense, and what did he do? He struck wildly. And he’s going to do whatever he has to to survive and defend his family, and his livelihood. He wishes both Edge and Christian speedy recoveries, and he thinks they’ll live long lives, so long as it’s far away from him.

*Commercial Break*

Charlotte is walking backstage in the PC, icing her arm. Charly, of course, approaches her and asks about the loss. As Charlotte begins to talk, Nia Jax attacks her from behind. Nia slams Charlotte into a ring post, then puts her arm into a box and slams the lid on it.

R-Truth comes to the ring and Akira Tozawa is already there with his ninja’s. They’re about to have their title match when out comes Bobby Lashley and MVP. The Almighty comes down and beats all of the ninja’s, slamming them into the barricade and chokeslamming one onto the apron. MVP gets into the ring and distracts Truth, allowing Lashley to run in and apply the full nelson until Truth passes out.

Lashley leaves with MVP. Tozawa reappears from under the ring and he sees what happened. He slides into the ring and pins the unconscious R-Truth! Akira Tozawa is the WWE 24/7 Champion.

Sarah Schreiber is backstage outside the doctor’s room. Natalya appears and says she’s worried about Charlotte and that the women’s division is in dire need of a leader like her since Becky is off wiping baby poo. So she has an announcement but it’ll have to wait until after her match.

*Commercial Break*

Liv Morgan Vs. Natalya W/Liv Morgan

The match begins and Liv lands a few rights, but Nattie drops her with a discus lariat for a two-count. Natalya puts Liv in the corner and stomps her down, then tells the crowd to shut up. Natalya lifts Liv into a Dominator position but Liv grabs the ropes and flips onto the apron.

Natlaya shoulders Liv off the apron, then sends her back inside but Liv spins around and hits a headscissors on the floor. Liv sends Nattie inside but Lana then distracts her. Nattie chopblocks Morgan, then applies a Sharpshooter and Liv taps.

Winner: Natalya

After the match Natalya holds onto the submission for a few extra seconds before running out to hug Lana.

We see Big Show walking backstage and Caruso asks him if he ever thought he’d be fighting ninja’s. Big Show says Monday Night Raw always surprises him. He only came back to say hi to a few friends, but how often do you get a chance to punch a ninja? This week, he’s here because of what happened to his friend, Christian. And people think he’s all smiles and heart, a comedian, but people forget he can be a heartless, violent giant. And tonight that’s who’s heading to the ring.

Ric Flair makes his entrance. He’ll be anointing Randy Orton as the greatest wrestler ever, next!

*Commercial Break*

The Nature Boy is in the ring and he says that, first of all, his daughter got injured. When she comes back Nia Jax will wish she works and lives in a different environment. Now, to the subject at hand.

Flair says people always ask him who’s the best in the business. He says the work arguable does not apply, everybody wants to be the best but only one can be. And it’s Randy Orton. In a period of 24 hours, Randy punted both Edge and Christian back into retirement. So he wants to praise him to his face.

Orton comes to the ring and Flair sits on the rope for him. Ric says he’s been dying for this moment. He says Randy is the most dominant, vicious performer in WWE and that’s a tough slot to sit on, manage, and dictate from. Flair calls Randy the best performer in the history of WWE.

Orton thanks Flair and says it’s nostalgic for them to the in the ring together. Half of Evolution. But nostalgia can be mistaken for legacy. It was nostalgic that Rey low-blowed Christian, proving himself still the dirtiest player in the game. And it’s nostalgic that he punted Christian. Nostalgic that he beat Edge, sending him into retirement. He says he proved himself, once again, the legend killer and it makes his voices very happy.

The Big Show comes out and heads right for the ring. He yells that he’s heard enough. Show says he’s not going to let Flair glorify what Randy did. He says Edge and Christian are his friends, and he’s going to pay for what he did. Show says he’s known Randy a long time, and he’s knew he was a narcissistic leech since day one. And right now he’s leeching on a man he once respected, Ric Flair.

Show says Randy has always latched onto better performers than himself, people like Edge because they make him look better than he is. And once he’s gotten what he wants, he leaves the host to find another. hey both know Edge isn’t done, but Edge isn’t going to get the pleasure of hurting Randy by himself. This pissed-off giant will break every bone in his body.

Randy cuts Show off and says he’s a big fan. Says he has respected Show since day one, and they came up together. They’ve travelled together and everyone can agree that Big Show is a legend. But he didn’t suspect that kicking his friends in the face would hurt him so much. And he needs to be careful or he’ll meet the same fate. Big Show tells him to bring it and Randy rolls out of the ring. Orton gets fired-up and says he’s motivated, and what happens Big Show next is on him.

Next on RAW, we get another Championship match!

Bayley tags in but Kay forces her to the corner, where The IIconics team-up to beat Bayley and leave her lying on the apron.

*Commercial Break*

We return to find Kay beating Bayley in the middle of the ring. Irish whip to the corner but Bayley forearms Royce off the apron. Bayley mocks The IIconics, then runs at Kay but eats an elbow. Royce tags in and hits a fisherman suplex into a pin but Banks runs in to break it up.

Bayley makes a tag and Sasha clocks Royce with a knee. The Champs hit a double-team slam for a two-count. Banks looks for Three Amigoes but only gets two of them. Royce sends Banks into Bayley, then rolls her up for a near-fall. Banks knocks Kay off the apron and applies the Bank Statement to Royce and she taps!

Winners: Bayley & Sasha Banks

After the match Bayley says they are so very good. Sasha says that she’s been thinking and she knows Bayley is a double Champion. But she can’t help but feel jealous. She loves seeing Bayley happy but she wants to experience it as well. She wants a Championship match. So, at Extreme Rules, she will be challenging Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship!

Bayley and Sasha laugh but Asuka’s music hits and out she comes. Asuka rants in Japanese, then says Sasha is not the boss of her. She accepts the challenge. Bayley then assaults Asuka and the two of them beat her down. Asuka rallies but Sasha hits the Bank Statement.

MVP is backstage with Bobby Lashley and Sarah Schrieber asks if he was trying to make a statement tonight. Lashley says he should be Champion, if it wasn’t for R-Truth. MVP says Lashley is a man revitalized. He says his services worked wonders for Lashley, and it would do the same for Apollo. He saw the little trick Apollo used to beat Shelton Benjamin last week, but he was dumb enough to challenge him again tonight. He says that, with his services, Crews could be the best United States Champion since, him.

*Commercial Break*

Liv Morgan is walking backstage, holding her back. Ruby Riott walks up but Liv tells her no, not tonight. Ruby seems to be trying to reach out but Liv says she knows she’s been losing, a lot, and she doesn’t need Ruby rubbing it in her face. Liv walks off and Ruby sighs.

MVP is in the ring, in the V.I.P Lounge. He introduces, potentially, his newest client, Apollo Crews. MVP says it feels right having the United States Champion in the V.I.P Lounge. MVP says he respects that Crews wants to be a fighting Champion. And he gained a lot of respect for Crews when he beat him to get in the Money In The Bank match. But then he recklessly blew out his knee, forfeiting his position in the match.

That’s when he realised Crews needed someone to help him navigate those bad decisions. He’s made lots of mistakes himself, so he can help Crews not make the same mistakes. He can help him give his daughter a great life. Crews cuts him off and says he’s gotten this far without his help. He says he appreciates the offer but he declines.

MVP says he has gotten far by himself, but his style isn’t sustainable in the long run. And Apollo wouldn’t be out here listening if he didn’t have some interest. He says with his guidance, Apollo can be one of the all-time great US Champions. He had a title reign of 343 days and Apollo can’t do that if puts his body on the line every week. So, with or without him, the US Championship is coming back where it belongs.

Crews gets in MVP’s face and out comes Shelton Benjamin. MVP distracts Crews, so Benjamin knocks him from the ring, then slams him into the ring post. He tells Apollo he shoudn’t leave his back blind, that’s a free lesson. The next one is going to cost him.

*Commercial Break*

United States Championship

(C) Apollo Crews Vs. Shelton Benjamin

We’re back and the match is already underway, with Shelton forcing Apollo to the corner, then landing a big kick to the face for a two-count. Crews is holding the shoulder Benjamin sent into the ring post.

Crews slams Benjamin and looks for the standing moonsault but Shelton counters into an armbar. Crews fights out and clotheslines himself and Benjamin over the top rope to the floor. Benjamin runs for a splash but misses and hits the ring post. Crews get Shelton back in the ring and hits the spin-out powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Apollo Crews

After the match Crews is leaving when MVP comes down the ramp and holds his hand up. Crews snaps his arm away but once again leaves his back blind, allowing Lashley to run up behind and apply the full nelson! Lashley drops the Champion on the ramp.

We see Rey Mysterio backstage and Dominik comes up top him. Dominik asks if he’s sure about this and Rey says he is, that it’s time to show the Messiah what they’re all about.

*Commercial Break*

Rey Mysterio comes to the ring with his son Dominik. Rey says that one of the most terrifying things for a parent is not being able to get a hold of your child. And next Monday, he tried calling him several times but couldn’t get him. He scared the hell out of him. And when he found out where he was going, he didn’t feel any better. He came to the Performance Centre and he got out of a three-on-one situation.

He’s really proud of him for that but he’s also frustrated. Dom’s mom was terrified.Rey says everytime they get in the ring it’s dangerous. And he knows he’s pissed off about what Seth did. Rey says Dominik might be bigger than him, but no matter how big or how strong, he will always be his old man. Dom fought for him, so now it’s his turn to fight for him. He needs revenge but he needs to do it alone.

Dominik takes the microphone and says he isn’t going anywhere. This is what a family looks like, and this family wants a fight. Seth’s music hits and out he comes by himself. Seth says they’re putting him in a difficult position. He doesn’t know if he should go down to the ring and slaughter a father in front of his son, or should he go down and make Rey watch as he sacrifices his boy?

Thankfully, it’s not up to him. It’s up to face, prophecy, and destiny. And it seems to him that they’re both in the same place at the same time, and two eyes are better than one. Rollins makes his way down the ramp, but stops at the bottom and drops to his knees. Austin Theory and Murphy come down behind him, but Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black come down and attack them!

Carrillo and Black team with Dominik to beat on Murphy and Theory. The four of them surround Rollins and Rey hits a 619! They slam him into the barricade, then Rey and Dominik try to push Seth’s eye into the steel steps as Black and Carrillo try to stop them. Theory and Murphy attack them, and Seth grabs hold of Dom. Rollins tries to push Dom’s eye into the steps as the disciples hold Rey and make him watch. But Carrillo and Black run them off.

RAW ends with a stand-off between all seven men. Let us know what you thought of the show and come back tomorrow for more wrestling news. Until then, stay safe.
