New Japan had to cancel their plans much like every other sports and entertainment company on the planet. COVID-19 meant that their scheduled May 27th Madison Square Garden event could not take place. There is a lot of hope that they will try again.

Recently uncovered documents reveal that New Japan Pro Wrestling filed a trademark for “Wrestle Dynasty.” This was the name of their cancelled MSG show.

This trademark is registered for many types of clothing merchandise. They also registered it under the umbrella of “Consulting services about education; arranging, conducting and organization of seminars in the field of martial arts.”

Other specific uses for “Wrestle Dynasty” includes holding pro wrestling events with that name. We’ll have to see when New Japan Pro Wrestling books another Wrestle Dynasty event, but it appears the name isn’t going away.
