Lita was ahead of her time in many ways. She was also a trailblazer and without her contributions women’s wrestling might not be what it is today.

The WWE Hall Of Famer recently spoke to Alicia Atout about her upcoming Kayfabe project. She also discussed her time in the ring as a female WWE Superstar taking out male Superstars.

Lita revealed that she would apologize to male Superstars before they bumped for her. She recalled saying “I’m sorry” to Dean Malenko especially. The same was true for guys like Test and Albert.

“No, I knew it was ballsy and kind of a role that women weren’t given before. I think I preemptively tiptoed and thanked and apologized in advance for any man that I was having to work with, that I was having to bump for me or make me – prop me up like that superhero that I got to portray and I do hope that it was perceived. It was delicate to balance. I didn’t make up that, the whole office would be like ‘Okay, this is what you are doing today, kicking that person’s ass.’ I’d be like, ‘Sorry, it’s Dean Malenko of all your great matches.’ You know, I remember Prince Albert and Test, and they have me taking these people down.”

Lita entertained millions during her time in the ring. She was also pulling off moves and wrestling at a level that few fellow WWE Divas could match. Lita did have her share of great matches with fellow female Superstars, but a lot of men put her over along the way as well.
