WWE WrestleMania 36 is taking place on April 4th and 5th this year. It will be the biggest spectacle that WWE can possibly produce, but the card has evolved a lot along the way.

We previously discussed the only match that didn’t receive a tweak on the road to WrestleMania. There were several more matches that were changed in a big way.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer ran down some of WrestleMania’s matches and explained how they were booked as change of plans along the way. He used The Undertaker vs AJ Styles as an example. News of that match broke on February 13th which is when Meltzer claims WWE booked it.

“That match was decided, the week it got out was the week that it was decided. You know like most of these matches the week that they’ve got out, it’s not like there were matches being hidden.”

“The day you heard about the match like Elias and Corbin, it’s probably been about two weeks. It’s not like any other year. That’s one of the reasons why people say it’s a weak card because they didn’t freaking decide on the card it’s not like they had this long direction. It’s like ‘WrestleMania’s here what are we gonna do? Who are we gonna put on the card?’ Goldberg wasn’t booked for this card. That happened because Vince changed his mind… because Vince changed his mind.”

WWE was able to put together a loaded WrestleMania card. Then the current situation in the world caused them to call a huge audible. Hopefully, we will be able to get back to normal following WrestleMania season.
