As reported by FOX 13 News, the first cases of the coronavirus in the Tampa Bay area have been confirmed.

COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, has had a notable impact throughout many countries around the world – and now, it’s starting to impact big sporting events, with some even suggesting that the 2020 Summer Olympics could be under threat.

While it’s no immediate cause for concern, it’s certainly worth noting that the first cases of the infectious disease have now been confirmed in the Tampa Bay area, which is where WWE will be hosting WrestleMania 36 in just a few weeks time.

One of the confirmed cases comes from Manatee County, whereas the other stems from Hillsborough County.

In terms of where those two counties are in relation to the city of Tampa itself, Manatee County is a 50-minute drive away from the city whereas Hillsborough County is a 15-minute drive away.

At this stage in proceedings it doesn’t seem as if there is all too much of a reason to worry about events around Mania week being postponed or cancelled, but as the media circus surrounding the virus continues, fans will almost certainly be able to hear pretty quickly if things escalate to the point where their WrestleMania travel plans are under threat.
