AEW Star Stepping Out Of Ring For Backstage Responsibilities

AEW is a growing company and there are roles to fill with good people. Awesome Kong is a big benefit for All Elite Wrestling no matter what she’s doing.

During the media scrum following AEW Revolution, Tony Khan confirmed that Awesome Kong is still with the company. She was written off of television a few weeks ago when AEW said they were unsure if or when she’ll return.

Khan noted that Awesome Kong is still working backstage for AEW, but that’s all she is going to be doing for now. She is producing matches for the AEW Women’s Division and taking a break from the ring.

Kong has the final season of GLOW currently in production as well. This is something that she obviously had going on before signing with AEW so the company is letting her have the time to finish that up.
