Vince McMahon shocked a lot of fans and Wall Street when he revealed that WWE was open to selling the streaming rights to their major events. This went down during WWE’s 2019 fourth quarter conference call.

Triple H actually hinted at this during his own conference call before NXT UK TakeOver. He said that WWE is exploring all options. They’re there and they’re real. He didn’t outright say it, but knowing what we know now it certainly appears that The Game knew what his father-in-law had in mind.

“Now with that partnership with BT Sport and the prospect there of not only airing on BT but on Paramount, it’s continuing to grow and now that’s beginning to get picked up over the globe as well. That opportunity is massive across the board and it’s a value that a lot of people out there want. That’s what you see us talking about – WWE is open for business and we’re exploring our options at all times. They’re there and they’re real. We’re seeing what the best fit is for everybody and what the best value for our fan base is and for the WWE Universe,”

It was previously reported that WWE is talking to ESPN about bringing their major events to ESPN+. McMahon said that they are far enough along with talks that they’ll be announcing something during the 1st quarter this year.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
