Last night, during the Daytona 500 race, first place Ryan Newman was tapped from behind by Ryan Blaney before his car began to flip across the track at speeds of up to 190mph.

The car burst into flames, and now, Newman is believed to be in a serious condition – although his injuries are not said to be life threatening.

Members of the WWE Universe have been quick to offer their support to Newman and the NASCAR family in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

WWE superstar Sheamus had only recently interviewed Newman as part of the pre-show for the event, whereas Stephanie McMahon always seems to keep her finger on the pulse of what’s happening outside the realms of WWE and in pop culture.

Newman is expected to make a full recovery but even with that being the case, these sorts of incidents open your eyes to just how risky and scary motor sports can be.

The same goes for the pro wrestling business too but in these cars, guys like Newman really are putting it all on the line for the fans.

We’d like to wish Ryan all the best with his recovery efforts.
