AEW entered the pro wrestling space in 2019 and WWE seemed to have an answer for them on Wednesday nights. They moved NXT to the USA Network to create the Wednesday Night Wars.

During WWE’s 2019 fourth quarter earnings call, Vince McMahon was asked about AEW. He said that the new company has not changed how WWE does business or their point of view.

McMahon went on to say that WWE doesn’t feel as though they need to present an edgier product to combat this new competition. He said that WWE is a rare TV-PG product and they are confident with NXT’s performance on Wednesday nights.

WWE continues to be positive with their Wednesday night offering on the USA Network and are confident of the brand’s success.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
