AEW Still In Talks With Top NJPW Star

AEW is sticking around for at least three more years after signing an expansion in their WarnerMedia deal. This means they might be free to open up their checkbook a little bit.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed that fact that Jeff Cobb beat Lance Archer in Atlanta this weekend. That is surprising, but Archer could be on his way out of the company too.

“Jeff Cobb beat Lance Archer which is kind of a surprise. I wonder… obviously, Lance Archer has been in talks with AEW.”

AEW could very well sign Lance Archer. He is a big guy who could help tell some stories. He is also with NJPW on a per tour contract. We’ll have to see what happens, but it’s possible that Archer could be on Dynamite soon enough.
