AEW has been allowed to pull of some interesting angles already. It turns out that Tony Khan has needed to ask for approval before a couple of them.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Tony Khan went to TNT before the January 15th show where Chris Jericho “stabbed” Jon Moxley’s eye out with one of the spikes from his jacket.

It was said that Dusty Rhodes got in a lot of trouble with the network in 1988 when he did the same thing with the Road Warriors’ shoulderpad spikes. Khan also got the network’s approval before MJF wore a shirt on Dynamite that said: “I banged Dallas’ daughter.”

DDP’s daughter Lexy Nair actually “got a kick out of it.” She works for AEW as a backstage interviewer. MJF is a big fan of old territory feuds and got the idea from the “I broke Wahoo’s leg” t-shirt that Greg Valentine wore in the 1970’s.
