Jon Moxley’s first match after leaving WWE was in New Japan Pro wrestling. He defeated Juice Robinson for the IWGP United States Title. Now he has that title back.

Moxley traveled to Japan for Wrestle Kingdom 14 where he faced Lance Archer in a brutal Texas Deathmatch. Renee Young also made the trip to Tokyo for her husband’s big match.

After a brutal match against Lance Archer, Moxley won the match and became a two-time IWGP United States Champion. This was quite a way to kick off the new year for Jon Moxley. He won via KO after hitting a Death Rider DDT through two tables. Archer was pretty cut up in the process.

The former Dean Ambrose never properly lost his title in the first place. He needed to vacate it when weather wouldn’t allow him to travel to Japan for a title defense. Now Moxley is champion once again in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
