The Inner Circle is still reigning supreme on AEW Dynamite. That was a very attractive thing that AEW could promise Santana and Ortiz that WWE couldn’t.

Chris Jericho said that AEW suggested The Lucha Bros for his Inner Circle, but he thought they were too much like super heroes. He needed killers so and wanted Santana and Ortiz instead.

Ortiz opened up to Chris Van Vliet about how being a part of The Inner Circle played a huge part in their decision to sign with All Elite Wrestling. Chris Jericho wanted them and it was impossible to say no to him.

“Since the [Jericho] Cruise Cody would reach out to us and say, ‘What’s your status? What’s going on?’ He kept in touch with us up until the point where we joined, also The Bucks and everybody. Once we were pretty much almost from the beginning we did weigh out all of our options, of course. Once it was kinda known that we were going there Jericho found out and since Jericho got to see us perform on the Cruise he was like I want those guys on my team, so it was like everything working together. Once we found out Jericho wanted us it was like ‘How are we gonna go anywhere else, man?'”

Ortiz went on to say that he and Santana bonded over Chris Jericho’s first book. Santana confirmed this and said that Jericho’s book is what “bonded them as a tag team.” Now they are performing alongside Le Champion on AEW Dynamite.
