Steve Austin has seen a lot of Superstars come and go from WWE. He has also seen a number of them come back including himself. CM Punk returned to the WWE fold as a part of WWE Backstage. That doesn’t mean he will be wrestling, but it also doesn’t exclude him from a future match if something can be worked out.

While speaking to State of Combat podcast, Steve Austin addressed CM Punk’s return to WWE. Nothing is guaranteed that he will ever wrestle again, but just having CM Punk back is a “breath of fresh air” for the pro wrestling world.

“I don’t know if it leads to anything more. I guess, speculation to be determined, we will find out.”

“Just the fact that he returned to be doing business with WWE I love because I know they split up on bad terms and now they are back in business together, CM Punk was a lights-out pro wrestler; great promos, great work, great talent, so to have him back into the fold obviously they ironed whatever they needed to iron out and both sides are happy.”

“It’s great to have CM Punk back in the pro wrestling/sports entertainment business. I think it’s a breath of fresh air because the guy brings in a great perspective, great insights, great opinion on all things sports entertainment.”

This could be a very interesting time for pro wrestling, especially if CM Punk ever decides he wants to lace up his boots again. Steve Austin is obviously paying attention to what is going on and he understands that even if the Second City Savior never wrestles again he can still contribute a lot to the business.
