Velveteen Dream dropped the NXT North American Title and then he disappeared. After returning to cut a promo, he seemed to take off once again and we’re still waiting on his return.

Dream has reportedly experienced a setback in his recovery from injury according to Brad Shepard. He was once listed with a November return date, but now it appears he might not wrestle again this year.

According to a source in #WWE, @VelveteenWWE had a setback in his recovery. His initial time-frame was the end of November, but he’s now listed as January 6th, for what should be an evaluation date. #WWENXT

Hopefully, Velveteen Dream can use this time off to focus so he can come back and make an even larger impression on the USA Network. He lost the NXT North American Title just as NXT was starting on their new television home and now fans might have to wait until January to see what he’ll do next.
