Darren Young decided to make a very brave move for himself as he came out of the closet while still employed by WWE. This was a confession that TMZ did not expect to get that day, but the news soon flooded the Internet Wrestling Community.

In a story he wrote on Sportskeeda, the former Prime Time Player discussed CM Punk’s return to the WWE fold. In the process he explained his early experiences with the Second City Savior.

Young wrote that after CM Punk’s brutal SummerSlam 2013 match against Brock Lesnar, Punk made a big statement. He walked into catering during a live feed and gave Darren Young a big hug in front of everyone. Then he had some very inspirational words to impart.

He said, “I’m very proud of you for coming out and being so courageous. If you have any problem with anyone in the locker room you let me know and I’ll take care of it.”

Young wrote that he was “shocked” that CM Punk came in after he was done with Brock Lesnar to make this kind of statement. He said that CM Punk was being iced down and everything after this brutal loss to the Beast Incarnate, but he still wanted to make sure that Young knew he had his support.

Darren Young said this action from CM Punk gave him even more confidence to be himself in the WWE locker room. It is also a moment that he will never forget, especially as CM Punk makes his way back into the WWE fold.
