When Shawn Spears struck Cody Rhodes over the head with a vicious chair shot, it kickstarted a really fascinating feud that helped to elevate both guys, leading to an entertaining match at All Out.

While Cody was the one who came out on top, we certainly can’t forget about how entertaining Spears was throughout the course of the build as he continues to prove why he should’ve been given more of a chance to shine during his time in WWE.

Some would argue that he isn’t amongst the best of the best when it comes to AEW’s main roster, but whenever he’s been given the chance to prove that he is, he’s knocked it squarely out of the park.

Last night Myles Garrett struck an opposing player over the head in the National Football League, prompting great outrage amongst a series of football fans around the world.

Spears, on the other hand, saw it as an opportunity to tease AEW fans as to what the future could hold for him in All Elite Wrestling. While nobody wants to see an unprotected head shot like that happen again, mainly because of how unbelievably scary it was, we all know that Shawn has the potential to get people talking in a big way.

The first year of a new promotion is all about enjoying the ride and based on this evidence the man formerly known as Tye Dillinger is really enjoying this new creative freedom that he seems to be experiencing.
