Jungle Boy is 1/3 of the Jurassic Express in AEW and fans all over the world have gravitated toward his charisma. The Jungle Boy gimmick fits like a glove for Jack Perry, but he didn’t like the gimmick at all upon first viewing.

During Starrcast IV, Jungle Boy told Taz that when he was first given his name, he thought it was dumb. He soon found himself molding his move set to match this new persona as it started capturing the attention of crowds.

“For me I got stuck with the Jungle Boy thing, I never thought of it. When I first got stuck with it I thought it was really dumb. Over time I saw that people liked it and they latched onto it so I really kinda adapted my style and everything to the name.”

“Now as far as it goes being innovative with this team I think if you look at us we’re obviously not a cookie cutter team. [Luchasaurus] is too big, the other guys are ‘too small.’ We’re different in different ways, but I think going with that and kinda exaggerating those features makes it easier to be innovative because we’re not out here doing what other guys are doing.”

We have yet to see Jurassic Express perform on AEW Dynamite with Luchasaurus, but the wait could be worth it. Jungle Boy will ride on his dinosaur once again, but it never would have happened in the first place if Jungle Boy would have went a different way with his name.
