Over the last week or so there has been a lot of information to digest for pro wrestling fans, both good and bad. One story that has somewhat flown under the radar, though, is the potential dream match between Randy Orton and The Rock that has been teased for WrestleMania 36.

Orton was the one who threw the idea out there, and while his invitation went without a reply before The Great One’s appearance on Friday Night SmackDown, he was finally able to receive a reply over the wonderful medium of Twitter.

However, it doesn’t appear as if the master of the RKO got the answer that he’d been searching for.

It doesn’t appear as if WWE themselves is interested in pushing this idea themselves, with Randy seemingly trying to start something out of nothing – which is always a fun thing to see on social media.

These two men have actually squared off on the grandest stage of them all before, when Evolution took on the Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection at WrestleMania 20 with Evolution coming out on top.

In terms of this match specifically, though, we really do feel like it’d be a great return bout for Rocky. Of course, given his busy schedule you never know how much time he could commit to it, and if he’s only going to have one more match, Triple H & Roman Reigns would probably be ahead of Orton in the pecking order.

Whatever the case may be, we hope to see a continuation of this story.
