CM Punk hasn’t wrestled since he left WWE, but that doesn’t mean isn’t an expert. This is one of the many reasons why Fox would want him as a contributor on “WWE Backstage.”

We previously reported that CM Punk had an audition this week for the new WWE studio news show. The biggest question is what’s next.

Dave Meltzer discussed this during Wrestling Observer Radio where it was revealed that Punk’s audition went well. In fact, he’s likely to get a job offer.

“I guess it went well because the feeling is that he’ll probably get an offer which makes everything really weird. Because CM Punk on that show it kinda does’t make sense in a lot of ways. I can’t imagine WWE would want it, I mean I’m sure they wouldn’t, but would they go as far as trying to fight with Fox about this and then Fox is trying to figure out the weirdness of WWE or would they kinda let it go?”

When Fox had MMA Tonight, it was noted that all it took was one phone call to get Ariel Helwani fired. We’ll just have to see what WWE decides to do.

This situation with CM Punk is definitely getting more interesting before it loses any steam.
