After months and months of teasing it, NXT finally pulled the trigger on The Undisputed Era’s ‘hold all the gold’ moment as Roderick Strong was able to defeat Velveteen Dream last night to capture the North American Championship.

It was, understandably, a pretty significant moment in the history of the faction, who are expected to run riot down in NXT for a while before they eventually make their way up to RAW or SmackDown Live.

Kyle O’Reilly, in particular, was more than happy to gloat on social media as fans question what could be next for them as a group.

The heel nature of The Undisputed Era makes them a very easy group to root against, with some fans actually claiming that they want to see things get mixed up a little bit now – but what they mean by that is anyone’s guess.

The idea of a split has already been teased on multiple occasions, with the popular opinion being that Roddy Strong would be the one to defect. However, given how long he’s been with the group now, it’d have to take something substantial for that to happen.

With NXT only recently debuting on USA Network you’d have to imagine they will be kept together for a while, as they build up the next big challenger for Adam Cole’s NXT Championship – with many believing that Matt Riddle will be the man to take the belt off of him.

Either way, we’re just excited to see how they continue to develop.
