AEW All Out included a lot of great wrestling and some progression in stories as well. One notable moment came at the end of Cody vs. Shawn Spears when MJF was left holding a chair for a moment. He ended up handing the chair over, but the subtext was definitely there, because MJF could turn on Rhodes at any time.

If you ask Cody Rhodes, that’s not happening. The American Nightmare fired off a tweet to answer one fan who thinks that Maxwell Jacob Friedman needs to turn on his best friend in the whole wide world.

Ain’t gonna’ go down that way. He’s legit my good friend and the man I handpicked to come to AEW.

He could 2nd 1,000 of my matches and the result will be the same.

Just the fact that Cody is so adamant about this means it’s destined to happen in the pro wrestling world, right? Let’s just see how long it takes until MJF finally turns on Cody Rhodes.

Hopefully, AEW realizes how great this build can be and they plan a slow burn. It wouldn’t shock us at all to see Cody vs MJF in a series of high profile matches by the time everything is said and done.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
