Welcome to Ringside News’ coverage of WWE SmackDown Live. Please keep refreshing throughout the show for constant updates once it kicks off at 8:00 PM EST.

WWE’s Summerslam event was last Sunday and we haven’t slept since here at Ringside News. It’s been one big event after another so we’ll have to see what they bring to the table tonight on SmackDown.

Hopefully, we’ll get some more momentum in the current “Whodunit?” storyline with Roman Reigns as he looks for who’s been trying to murder him.

Roman Reigns will take on Buddy Murphy tonight. That should be a good chance for Buddy Murphy to work in the spotlight.

We’ll get to see who Bayley’s next challenger is for her SmackDown Women’s Title. Even if they don’t reveal it, we might have a better idea at least.

Charlotte Flair is set to take on Ember Moon as well. Perhaps that match will help us figure out who will be facing Bayley at Clash Of Champions.

Randy Orton’s feud with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston is expected to continue following their Summerslam encounter that didn’t see anyone really come out as the winner.

Also, Kevin Owens is going to be looking for his next opponent after finishing off Shane McMahon at Summerslam.

Opening Segment

Kevin Owens came out first and he got a great reception from Toronto with a loud chant. He said that yesterday marked 5 years since signing his WWE contract.

Owens’ family was there at Summerslam as well which made it so much better. He will remember that moment for the rest of his life and the Toronto crowd loved KO for it too.

Then Owens turned his attention to the King Of The King Tournament. He’s thrilled to be in the tournament this year and then he said winning the KOTR tournament would mean as much to him as winning any of the titles he’s already won.

Then Shane McMahon came out and everyone let out a collective groan.

Owens sat in the ring and asked “Why, why, why?” He is so tired of Shane, as was the Toronto crowd who drowned him out with “asshole” chants.

Shane showed an image of KO kicking him in the nuts at Summerslam and he got a big “you deserve it” chant. Shane called Owens a cheater and then he played footage of Owens beating down Elias with a chair during Summerslam.

Since Elias was an enforcer at Summerslam and wearing a referee shirt that made him an official referee. So Shane fined him $100,000. Owens was pissed and he said if he’s the man he says he is then he’ll reconsider this because he knows it’s crap. Then Shane said he wasn’t doing that so he dropped his mic and left.

$100,000 is very steep. It’s not like Kevin Owens said a bunch of racist crap on a body building message board a decade ago.

Kevin went backstage to Shane’s office to speak to him, but he wasn’t able to talk McMahon out of it. Then he said “you know what? Let’s make it 105” before smashing Shane’s television with a stool.

Charlotte Flair vs Ember Moon

These two started out slow and traded some holds before Flair exited the ring to “Woo” and reset. The fans didn’t appreciate Charlotte either.

Flair tried to get back in, but Moon kicked her out and then she hit a dive on Charlotte before throwing her back in the ring. They moved back in and Charlotte took control by driving her into the barricade and then they went to commercial break.

Flair moved things back to the ring where she continued to work on Moon’s legs and then she slapped on a Boston crab. Ember got out and ended up kicking Flair in the face, but it didn’t stop her for long. Then Ember came back with a dropkick and avoided a big boot before hitting a discus right hand and a pump kick for a two count.

Moon hit a Codebreaker and they called it “double knees to the chin” and then Corey Graves said Codebreaker which was something we thought they weren’t allowed to say.

Flair stopped Ember from hitting an Eclipse, but then Moon came back and got two near falls. Then Flair got the Figure 8 and the submission.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

Daniel Bryan Clears The Air

Bryan and Rowan came out next and stood at the entrance. Daniel said there’s no question that someone is out to get Roman Reigns, but they had nothing to do with the car accident or the car accident.

Then Bryan said Buddy Murphy is a liar, but he doesn’t blame Murphy because anyone would lie in the same situation because Roman Reigns had his face pressed against the wall.

He gave a name, but Murphy gave the wrong name. “It was you” chants started and then Bryan asked the fans if they thought he and Rowan did it and they chanted “yes.” Bryan said that’s wrong with society because if someone tells a lie and it gets spread on social media and all of a sudden it becomes the truth.

Daniel Bryan stuck to his story that they had nothing to do with the incidents and tonight they are going to prove it. Mic drop. Walk away.

Backstage, Shane McMahon was looking at his busted television and Sarah Schreiber asked him who Owens’ opponent is going to be.

Then Samoa Joe walked up because he just so happened to be there. So it’ll be Joe vs KO tonight.

Roman Reigns vs Buddy Murphy

Murphy got off to a great start and beat Roman around the ring a little bit before moving outside. He really controlled The Big Dog in an impressive way.

Buddy nailed a double knees to the face off the steps to the floor and then they went to commercial. Murphy kept control through the entire commercial break and then Reigns fired himself up and came back.

Roman hit some punches and clotheslines in the corner followed by a big boot. Murphy avoided a Superman Punch and then Roman took a post. Murphy rolled Roman up for a very close two count and he sent Reigns outside before hitting a nice dive on The Big Dog.

Murphy hit a double knee drop off the top rope for another two count. Roman popped up and they continued for a bit before he landed a Superman Punch for a two count as well.

Roman hyped himself up for a Spear, but Murphy hit three knees to the face before hitting a brainbuster for a two count. This match was making Murphy look amazing.

They moved outside where Reigns hit a Superman Punch off the stairs and then they went back inside where he hit a massive Spear and got the pinfall.

Winner: Roman Reigns

The Revival were there and they cut an interview about what they are doing there to face the New Day. Looks like Brad Shepard called that one.

The New Day cut a promo about some things they have ruined, but they have never ruined the Tag Team Division. They have ruined Christmas, their dinner, and an adult circumcision.

Then Kofi Kingston answered why he did what he did at Summerslam. Because RKO insulted his family. So that’s not done yet.

Samoa Joe vs Kevin Owens

Before this match started it was announced that Elias is the special guest enforcer for the match. Out came Elias in a referee shirt.

Joe took the offense to Owens to start off the match, but Kevin came back with a clothesline. Then Joe went out side and Elias got in his way. The story here is that Owens can’t hit Elias as a referee because he doesn’t want another fine.

Kevin Owens fired back with a dropkick from the top rope on Joe before hitting a senton and he got a two count. Then Joe regained control of the match and they went to the top rope where Joe tried to superplex Owens, but KO fought back and he hit a senton off the top rope instead.

Joe avoided a Stunner and then Owens hit a pop up powerbomb. Elias pulled the real referee out of the ring and then he got in the ring as Joe rolled KO up and Elias counted an incredibly fast three count for the win.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Daniel Bryan and Rowan walked to the dressing room and told everyone to get out except for Buddy Murphy. This is becoming a trend.

They sat Murphy down and they told him that they know he lied, they understand why he lied, he just needs to admit how he lied. Daniel Bryan got right up in Buddy’s face screaming to tell everybody that he lied.

Murphy cracked a smile and Rowan beat the living crap out of him. A table was taken out in the process. Then Rowan held Murphy against the wall while Bryan screamed at him telling him to admit that he lied.

“I lied! I lied!” Murphy screamed and then Rowan let him go. Then Rowan roughed him up again for good measure after Bryan said, “Man I really just hate liars.”

New Day vs The Revival

Randy Orton came out and he cut a promo on Kofi about how Kingston can’t beat him. He said Kofi wasn’t ready then and he’s not ready now. He ran away from a fight at Summerslam in front of his family. Then he said one day his kids will ask him why he ran away from “that big bad scary man” and he will look them in the eyes and say “I can’t beat Randy Orton.”

Then Orton suggested he and Kofi join in. Okay, that sounded good.

New Day vs Revival & Randy Orton

Kofi started, but Orton tagged out to Dawson instead of mixing it up with Kingston. Then Kofi lit Scott up with multiple dropkicks. Then Woods tagged in and so did Wilder.

They wrestled for a bit until Dawson took the tag again and he saved his partner from Woods getting all heated up on him. The Revival tagged in and out on Woods while working on Xavier’s arm, but Randy didn’t get involved in the match.

Orton finally took a tag and he bounced Woods off the announce table on the outside. Dawson tagged back in, but Woods kept taking abuse.

Big E finally got the tag and he came in all fired up. E took out everyone in his path until he tagged in Kofi. The Revival took out Big E with a DDT and then Kofi hit a boom drop on Wilder. Kingston turned his attention to Orton on the outside and hit a dive on him.

Woods took a tag and fought one-armed against Wilder. Dawson took a tag and they hit the Shatter Machine and won the match.

Winners: The Revival & Randy Orton

After the match was over, The Revival stuck around and tried to destroy Big E’s knee, but Kofi came in with a Trouble In Paradise. Then Orton hit an RKO outta nowhere.

Then Orton eyed Woods and picked him up to hit an RKO on Xavier before The Revival picked Big E up to hit him with an RKO too.

Then Orton picked up Kofi to hit another RKO on him for good measure. They played Randy Orton’s music and the first SmackDown after Summerslam ended with the New Day laid out on the mat.

Backstage

Daniel Bryan and Rowan were backstage. Then Roman Reigns walked in. Daniel Bryan told him to apologize. Because Roman apologized to Samoa Joe. However, Roman Reigns didn’t say anything.

Then Daniel Bryan said that they’ve been conducting their own investigation and they know who did it. Next week… they’ll bring him the culprit. We can’t wait.
