WWE Protected Top Superstar At Summerslam

WWE’s Summerslam event saw plenty of notable moments, but one person we didn’t see much of was Drew McIntyre.

The former Chosen One wasn’t seen when you might expect during Shane McMahon’s match against Kevin Owens. There could be a reason for that considering the fact that WWE has been positioning him to be a top heel for a while now.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE was protecting Drew McIntyre during Summerslam. So, obviously they wanted to keep McIntyre out of any situation that might cause him to lose any heat with the crowd.

It’s good that WWE finally seems to be positioning Drew McIntyre in a better spot with the company. Let’s just see what they might do with him at this point as WWE looks toward the future after Summerslam.
