WWE held their Smackville special last night on the WWE Network. It was an interesting hour of wrestling, but there were no title changes.

In fact, fans were missing an expected SmackDown Women’s Title match during the broadcast. It should be noted that Bayley did defend her title before the show started on the WWE Network, but some fans were looking forward to watching it live.

There was a lot of interest online about this event. WWE didn’t give fans very much time at all to generate a buzz for the special, but they still captured the 4th trending worldwide topic on Twitter. As you can see by the graph below they also had an incredible spike with Google search trends.

Smackville did not trend in the top twenty on Google, but they did have a lot of people searching for the show online. In an interesting addition to this graph, the most interest generated from Google about the Smackville event came from the Tennessee area which makes sense seeing how the event took place in Nashville.
