Reason Natalya Received Big Summerslam Title Match

Natalya won a big match on Raw this week while cemented a spot for herself at Summerslam. This was a huge accomplishment, but now she must defeat Becky Lynch in Toronto to bring the title home.

Brad Shepard reported on Oh, You Didn’t Know that one of the driving reasons behind Natalya’s sudden push toward Summerslam is the fact that the big event shares a location with Nattie’s home country.

“A source speaking to me on the reason Natalya’s in the Raw women’s match at Summerslam, they’re hoping Natalya gets a big reaction in Toronto which they believe she will, so that’s the reason. That’s the reason she’s facing Becky Lynch so she can get a pop in Toronto.”

Natalya is very deserving of this title shot because she’s worked incredibly hard to get to where she is. After being passed over time and time again, perhaps Summerslam taking place in Canada was what she needed to get the opportunity, but she’s not likely to take it lightly considering how serious Neidhart is about the business.
