Paige is a very talented performer and she has a lot to offer WWE even as a retired pro wrestler. She’s been pulling for a manager role for quite a while and it looks like all of that hard work finally paid off.

Talk Sport recently spoke to Paige where she admitted that after she had to retire from the ring she pushed to be a manager. She wanted to manage Asuka and Ronda Rousey. This didn’t happen at the time due to her SmackDown Live General Manager responsibilities.

She also revealed why she rejected the position of backstage producer. She’s still young and wants to stay on camera which is understandable. That position might also include some stress that she might not need in her life either.

“After retiring, I pitched to manage Ronda Rousey and Asuka. I’ve always pitched for Asuka because I think she is such an amazing athlete and a wonderful person, the only thing she really lacks is the microphone skills.”

“Obviously I then had the GM role that I loved, but after that they offered me a role as a producer and I actually said yes. But after a few weeks I had to tell them I didn’t actually want to do that. It’s an amazing job, don’t get me wrong, but at 26/27, I still want to be in front of the camera and I don’t want to hang my boots up in that regard just yet.”

Paige is managing Asuka and Kairi Sane now, but a partnership with Ronda Rousey wasn’t able to happen. You can never say never in WWE, but The Baddest Woman On The Planet really didn’t need a mouthpiece. Paige is still really enjoying her time with the Kabuki Warriors as she remains on WWE television after her in-ring retirement.
