John Bradshaw Layfield, known by the masses as JBL, is widely considered to be one of the best heel world champions of his generation – and it’s not hard to understand why.

His cocky, businessman-like persona helped to get him over as a legitimate bad guy, to the point where fans were actively going out of their way to boo him. To this day he’s still one of the longest reigning WWE Champions ever, and modern era heels should take a few tips from his work back then.

Nowadays he doesn’t really do much with the company after he left his commentary duties, but after it was announced that Eric Bischoff would be coming back, JBL seems to be intrigued by the possibility of another run (probably on commentary).

This could be nothing more than a tease, but given that Bischoff has already replied, it wouldn’t be the strangest thing in the world to see JBL back behind the booth within a matter of weeks, if not months.

A lot of fans still wouldn’t be all too happy with that, with some still holding a grudge over the Mauro Ranallo stories that plagued the end of his run with WWE. Either way, though, he’d certainly cause a stir amongst the WWE Universe.

There’s so much uncertainty in the air right now that it’s kind of hard to know what is going to pop up next on both RAW and SmackDown Live. Then again, that’s kind of part of the fun, right?
