Jon Moxley hit the ground running with his first match out of WWE. He won the IWGP United States Title from Juice Robinson and made a big statement in the process. However, fans might not see him with that title very often.

The former Dean Ambrose competed at two indie events over the weekend for NEW, however, he did not carry his United States Title in the process. This could be very interesting as NJPW can’t even have Moxley perform at their shows in America.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Moxley is IWGP United States Champion, but he’s not allowed to carry his title on any shows in the United States. The jury is still out on whether he will be able to represent that title at any AEW events because it will take approval that might not be granted.

It’s still up in the air whether Moxley will be recognized as champion or wear the belt at Fyter Fest, which, ultimately is both up to Tony Khan agreeing to it as well as New Japan agreeing to it.

It will be very interesting to see what NJPW ends up doing with Jon Moxley as their United States Champion. At this point it is great that they have a title on him, but it might not be doing the company much good.
